Nori moved from busy Japan in 2004, to the peacefulness of Nelson, to create a slower pace of life, coaching Tennis and creating pottery. Before arriving in Nelson Nori lived in Kyoto, Japan, where he began coaching tennis in 1983 where he sat his coaching exams through the Japan Tennis Association. His part time coaching career began in Kyoto, where he coached at both a local club and in the schools.
In 2005 Nori sat his TCNZ Assistant Coach Certificate, and organised a Tennis Club for International Students in Nelson, called the Trafalgar International Tennis Club (TITC). Here Nori coaches a wide variety of international Tennis Enthusiasts from over 10 different countries, with ages varying from 14-55years.
